Aery Aviation secures a Subcontract to provide a fleet of modified aircraft to U.S. Defense Contractor

Newport News, Va. –  Aery Aviation, an aviation services firm, announced today that it will provide a fleet of Beechcraft King Air aircraft outfitted with special mission equipment under Subcontract to Rick Aviation of Newport News, VA who was recently awarded a five-year $27 million-dollar contract from the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command.

Under its Subcontract, Aery will design, engineer, modify, certify and deliver on lease multiple King Air aircraft to Rick Aviation for operations over the life of the Navy contract.  The aircraft will support the Navy’s Contracted Air Services (CAS) program, designated under the Naval Air Systems Command PMA-226, providing Contractor owned and operated aircraft, personnel, equipment and support for fleet training and exercises to a variety of Navy customers.

These services provide a variety of airborne threat simulation capabilities to train shipboard and aircraft squadron weapon systems operators and aircrew to counter potential enemy Electronic Warfare (EW). This support is provided in a variety of venues, from basic “schoolhouse” Air Intercept Control (AIC) training to large multinational exercises or small, single unit training exercises, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) emulator, High Frequency (HF)/Ultra High Frequency (UHF) to UHF communication relay, Link-16 interference and traffic collision avoidance.

“Aery is thrilled to provide our modification and integration services for the fleet of aircraft to our partner, Rick Aviation, as we grow our business relationship between the companies.  This important project will support critical Navy missions and Aery looks forward to upgrading and enhancing the current technology of this contract”, says Steve Walton, Aery Chief Executive Officer.

Aery is expected to begin work on this contract during the second quarter of 2018 and deliver all aircraft during the second half of 2018.  The contract award to Rick Aviation is currently under protest from the incumbent contractor and is expected to be resolved in the coming months.
